Norm, bring in Kent Graham

Post by BigWave96744 »

We all know:
- Norm will be the OC and call every single play. He knows what he wants and doesn't need help from a youngster to tweak his offense.
- Taylor Graham is the #1 QB

Why not bring in Taylor's dad, Kent Graham to be the eyes in the sky.
Who else knows Taylor best, played in the NFL and has been in the Pro Style offense all his life.

Thinking outside the box but why not?
How you figgah?

What about Kevin Gilbride Jr. who is a wide receiver coach with the Giants.
Not doubting, not hating, not loving, just hoping because I am a fan.

That is outside the box and an interesting idea, but do you feel that it would be beneficial in the long run?

Has he kept up with the game over the past ten years besides watching his son play? If so, he might find his second calling as a coach... if he has his degree.

Kung Fu-Naki has got to be one of the funniest nicknames. Kudos on the creativity.

How about Jim Mastro? Current RB coach at Washington State, the only other master of the "Pistol Offense" ? It would still be run first as Coach Chow likes it.. but with Chow's knowledge of the Pro style and Mastro's mastery over the Pistol, it would be a pretty awesome combination.

Rumored to be the front-runner to succeed Chris Ault at Nevada......

Don't know if Graham is an only child, but if he does have buddah's and sistah's, I doubt Kent will pull up stakes to come to Hawaii for 2 years. Family comes first.

Imo, it really doesn't matter who they put up in the box. Coach Chow will still have full control of the offensive play calling and decision making for all four quarters unless Hawaii is up with a convincing lead in the game as time expires. The OC in the box is basically filling in a voided space. Would be good for a young coach trying to gain hands on experience in learning under coach Chow.

Since Chow has had problems looking at what's going on the field from the field, he needs someone who can tell him what the D is doing.

That's probably the primary duties of the OC's job. Or should I say assistant OC? It's a good thing though. In order for an OC to be successful, they must first lear how to be a defensive coordinator in order to understand all the way around.
